About The Position

OHLA USA is seeking a Junior Estimator in Lisle, IL. This role is responsible for the coordination of bid documents, labor productions, subcontractors, vendor pricing, subcontractor and vendor buyouts, project start-up meetings, owner estimates, subcontractors and vendor requisitions, and cost to completes. Requirements

2+ years of estimating experience.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, etc.
Experience in performing take-off, pricing, and communicating with subcontractors.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and people skills.
Solid time management system and excellent organizational skills.
Track record of achievement and career progression.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Primavera, HCSS, On Screen Takeoff (OST) and AGTEK would be advantageous.
Local agency experience (IDOT/TOLLWAY)

Responsibilities

Thoroughly investigate the specifications, scope of work, and drawings for their portion of a bid and develop a complete understanding of the requirements.
Accurately and timely perform takeoffs and calculations and analyze data.
Conduct field visits to gather relevant data on project site conditions, verify production rates, and learn new construction techniques.
Adjust bid methods and incorporate this information accordingly during the bidding process.
Negotiate the best deal for cost, quality, and delivery using the company buyout procedure.
Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the contract documents and the potential risks for a project.
Make well-supported recommendations on how to mitigate and price risks.
Interface extensively with the Contracts department to address any risks or issues with the contract.
Help develop pricing strategies.
Coordinate with Business Development, Engineering, and Operations teams to get bids priced and submitted on time.
Draft proposals per RFP specifications with detailed pricing and clarifications.
