About The Position

Kent is seeking a Junior Civil /Structural Designer to support regional operations projects in Deer Park, Texas. The role works with lead and senior designers and engineers on civil and structural design projects. The position requires a positive work ethic, strong interpersonal skills, and problem-solving abilities. The employee must follow the Health, Safety, Sustainability, Environment and Quality rules of the company, its clients, and the governing authorities of the host country. Travel is required as project needs dictate; relocation is not required.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in refinery, midstream, and petrochemical work.
• Experience with AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Navisworks.
• Ability to generate 3D CAD foundation and steel models.
• Some knowledge of OSHA and PIP Standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Full fluency in English.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Some knowledge of laser scanning, LFM, and CloudWorx.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the 3D model in accordance with current procedures.
• Work with the civil/structural lead engineer on planning and design layout.
• Attend project meetings.
• Prepare accurate 2D and 3D drawings that meet industry, client, and company quality standards.
• Conduct field investigations and plant site visits when needed, and assist the lead engineer with investigation reports if necessary.
• Ensure effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used.
• Contribute to a cooperative and supportive team environment and accomplish related results.
• Perform other duties or ad-hoc tasks as assigned, within the reasonable scope of the role and the employee’s skills and capabilities.
