About The Position

Kent is seeking a Junior Civil/Structural Designer based in Deer Park, Texas, to support regional operations projects. The role works with lead and senior designers and engineers and requires knowledge of civil/structural design, a positive work ethic, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving ability. The designer prepares accurate 2D and 3D drawings and models, supports design planning and layout, attends project meetings, and may conduct field investigations and plant site visits. The position also involves following company, client, and governing-authority HSSEQ requirements and contributing to a cooperative team environment. Travel is required according to project needs; relocation is not required.

Requirements

• More than 5 years of experience in refinery, midstream, and petrochemical industries.
• Experience with AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Navisworks.
• Ability to generate 3D CAD foundation and steel models.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and PIP standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and Word.
• Full fluency in English.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.
• Knowledge of civil/structural design.

Nice To Haves

• Some knowledge of laser scanning, LFM, and CloudWorx.

Responsibilities

• Use the 3D model in accordance with current procedures.
• Work with the civil/structural lead engineer on planning and design layout.
• Attend project meetings.
• Prepare accurate 2D and 3D drawings that meet industry, client, and company quality standards.
• Conduct field investigations and plant site visits when needed, and assist the lead engineer with investigation reports when necessary.
• Ensure effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used.
• Contribute to a cooperative and supportive team environment by accomplishing related results.
• Perform other duties and reasonable ad-hoc tasks as assigned, taking workload and professional development into account.
• Observe the health, safety, sustainability, environment, and quality rules of the company, its clients, and governing authorities in the host country.
