Junior Boundary Systems Engineer

CACI International•Linthicum, MD
•$98,500 - $206,800

About The Position

CACI is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the design, implementation, and management of security and operational boundaries separating internal networks from external, untrusted networks. The role combines network and systems engineering to ensure network perimeters are clearly defined, controlled, and protected. The engineer will support complex network efforts and work across engineering, software, and dataflow teams to support mission operations. The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph; sponsorship is unavailable. The role is regular, full-time, and requires up to 10% local travel. The proposed national average salary range is $98,500–$206,800, with final compensation influenced by factors including location, experience, skills, education, and certifications.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP); sponsorship is not available.
  • Fourteen years of Systems Engineer experience on programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, including network engineering functions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading network requirements development, architecture, design, integration, testing, deployment, performance optimization, and operational support.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; alternatively, five additional years of Systems Engineering experience may substitute for the degree, for a total of nineteen years of experience.
  • Knowledge of network security principles, configuration management, and technical documentation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support large, complex network engineering efforts with evolving requirements and significant scale.
  • Support development of network architectures and detailed designs; integrate, configure, deploy, test, troubleshoot, and sustain network devices, interfaces, protocols, and technologies.
  • Analyze and optimize end-to-end system performance, network capacity, traffic flows, and dataflow management.
  • Configure and optimize network connectivity among front-end, back-end, and distributed system components.
  • Coordinate across systems engineering, network engineering, software, and dataflow teams to support mission operations and minimize downtime.
  • Use design analysis, modeling, testing, and network performance-monitoring tools to reduce latency, eliminate bottlenecks, and maximize throughput and availability.
  • Produce and maintain requirements, architecture diagrams, interface definitions, test plans, configuration baselines, and operational documentation.
  • Communicate technical decisions and risks to stakeholders.
