Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree earned from a highly competitive, top-tier ABA-accredited academic institution.
• Active admission in good standing to the Illinois State Bar, or immediate eligibility to waive in via reciprocity.
• One to four years of substantive, direct litigation experience within a globally recognized or elite mid-market firm.
• Impeccable academic credentials coupled with superior drafting prowess, sharp analytical capabilities, and sophisticated communication faculties.

• Substantive exposure to or a profound professional interest in cybersecurity incident response and complex data privacy regulations.
• First-chair or substantial second-chair deposition experience, specifically involving the direct and cross-examination of key fact witnesses.
• Proven ability to manage the workflow of paralegals efficiently while driving large-scale discovery mechanics.
• Deep familiarity with federal court proceedings and sophisticated multidistrict litigation structures.

Responsibilities

• Conducting sophisticated, exhaustive legal research to architect compelling defense and prosecution strategies.
• Drafting, meticulously reviewing, and fiercely advocating through high-quality appellate briefs, dispositive motions, and comprehensive legal memoranda.
• Managing the comprehensive discovery process, from initial document preservation to complex electronic discovery protocols, ensuring strict alignment with broader litigation objectives.
• Assisting senior trial counsel with intricate pre-trial preparations, witness interviews, and overarching trial strategy for bet-the-company legal proceedings.
• Collaborating synergistically with multidisciplinary practice groups to deliver cohesive, strategic legal counsel to a highly sophisticated global client base.
