About The Position

Cunnigham & Mears has a position available for a Junior Litigation Associate Attorney to join our law firm. This position focuses on litigated matters but may also include some settlement files. It is a full-time position that requires in person office attendance during our office hours. In this role, you will provide direct legal counsel with clients, perform legal research, draft documents and maintain current file status using Practice Master case management software. You will gain litigation experience and have the opportunity to learn from our experienced litigation attorneys. This position is ideal for a young lawyer seeking to develop their skills in all aspects of personal injury file handling, from client intake through civil pre-trial litigation. Compensation is a fixed annual salary.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Oklahoma.
  • Strong research and writing skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior internship or clerkship experience in litigation preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Passion for litigation and a commitment to client advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
  • Attend court hearings and trials to provide support to senior attorneys.
  • Participate in client meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Draft discovery requests and responses as part of the litigation process.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies and presentations.
  • Review and analyze case files and evidence to identify key issues.
  • Stay updated on legal trends and changes in litigation practices.
