About The Position

PARC Retirement Living is seeking an exceptional Junior Accountant to join their Corporate Services team in Downtown Vancouver. This role is crucial for supporting day-to-day accounting operations and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial information across the organization. The position is temporary, part-time (16 hours per week) with a 3-month contract, and the schedule is Monday and Tuesday.

Requirements

Diploma in Business with a focus or strong interest in accounting, or equivalent related work experience
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with basic computer applications
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to assess risks and identify opportunities
Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with change and ambiguity
Resilient, resourceful, and creative in approaching challenges
Must complete a Criminal Record Check and a TB test within the first month of employment

Nice To Haves

Experience with Yardi Voyager and Elevate is considered an asset

Responsibilities

Prepare and record journal entries, including assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses
Assist with monthly and annual internal and external financial reporting
Process invoices and employee expense reports, ensuring proper documentation and approvals prior to payment
Reconcile vendor statements, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution
Maintain organized and accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
Perform bank reconciliations by verifying, allocating, and reconciling transactions
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
