The JUMP Assistant Director, Student Development will join the JUMP Director and the Associate Director for Community Engagement to develop and implement the JUMP Program's strategic framework. This role involves demonstrating cross-cultural nuance in developing and implementing programming and holistic advising for pre-health students, with a focus on First-Generation, Low-Income (FLI) students. The position will establish collaborations within and outside Johns Hopkins University to promote student success and the program's mission. Key collaborations include Life Design, the Office for Academic Support, the Office of Pre-Professional Advising, other Center for Student Success programs, the Writing Center, the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and Offices of Academic Advising. The Johns Hopkins Underserved in the Medical Professions (JUMP) program is a learning community dedicated to supporting students pursuing health professional careers. JUMP aims to dismantle barriers for students and alumni applying to health professions. Through partnerships with academic institutions, medical professionals, and community partners, JUMP builds opportunities for aspiring healthcare leaders from diverse and underserved backgrounds to navigate pre-med/pre-health pathways. JUMP members engage in programming and activities that enhance their pre-med/pre-health experience, including workshops, panels, events, clinical and research opportunities, leadership positions, a Well-ness Program, and networking. The JUMP program focuses on exploring, informing, and supporting undergraduate pathways to medicine and health professions. Working with the Office of Pre-Professional Advising, JUMP builds knowledge and skills for navigating these pathways. JUMP programming is structured around five core pillars: Academic & Testing Support, Mentoring, JUMP Community Building/Baltimore Community Connections, Health Professions Exploration, and Pre-Health Pathways & Milestones.
