The Provost Office at Ithaca College, in partnership with the Department of Economics, invites applicants for the pre-doctoral Julian Euell Future Faculty Fellowship for the 2027–2028 academic year. The fellowship is for advanced doctoral candidates with expertise in any field of economics and an interest in teaching through a lens of equity and inclusion, in both pedagogy and content. It provides meaningful teaching experience and mentorship while fellows complete their dissertations. Over one year, fellows teach one course per semester, participate in scholarly forums, develop pedagogical skills, and receive professional development in preparation for academic careers. The fellowship is non-renewable and runs from August 16, 2027, through May 31, 2028. The fellow receives a $43,260 stipend, $5,000 in travel and professional development support, relocation reimbursement, office space, health benefits, access to Ithaca College and Cornell University libraries, and a dedicated faculty mentor in their program. The position is a full-time, limited-term faculty appointment on a non-tenured, non-tenure-track basis at Ithaca College’s Ithaca, New York campus. It is covered by the collective bargaining agreement between Ithaca College and SEIU Local 200 United. Successful candidates must meet with union leadership before their first day. Applicants must be enrolled in a Ph.D.-granting program at an accredited U.S. institution, be authorized to work in the United States, and provide evidence of a commitment to college- or university-level teaching, equitable classroom practices, and a scholarly agenda. By August 15, 2027, applicants must have advanced to candidacy at their home institution and have an approved dissertation proposal. Preference will be given to candidates in the final year of dissertation writing who would benefit from the opportunity. Candidates demonstrating a commitment to minoritized communities through teaching, service, and/or research are strongly encouraged to apply. Visa sponsorship is not provided. Applications should include an unofficial transcript, a cover letter addressing teaching pedagogy and career interests, research agenda and dissertation completion timeline, and contribution to the chosen department’s curriculum; a CV; a proposed course syllabus; and contact information for two references. To receive full consideration, applications should be received by November 15, 2026. Applications are not complete until all materials have been submitted. Employment offers are contingent on a criminal background check.
