About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is one of Canada's largest private sector nuclear engineering groups with over 60 years of experience in providing services to the nuclear industry. We are the steward of Canadian CANDU nuclear technology. This role involves supporting active project groups on the lab floor, responding to daily issues with equipment like cranes, lift trucks, and elevators, and coordinating lab schedules with external solution providers. The position also includes managing housekeeping, directing network cleaners, providing information and coordination for Work Permits, assisting with Job Safety Analysis (JSA) development for Nuclear Fuel (NF) functions, and coordinating with other contractors such as Building Maintenance and Roofing. Hazardous waste organization and storage, acting as a Contractor Sponsor, and supporting project groups as a lift truck or crane operator are also key responsibilities. The role includes the removal of obsolete or unnecessary equipment or test systems and supporting annual inspections for various equipment including cranes, fume hoods, lift trucks, fall arrest equipment, pallet trucks, and all below-the-hook lifting equipment.

Requirements

Attend monthly safety meetings.
Work with OHS on all safety activities.

Responsibilities

Support all active project groups on the lab floor.
React to daily issues with equipment such as cranes, lift trucks, and elevators.
Direct various groups to coordinate lab schedules with outside solution providers (OHS, PROFAC, etc.).
Manage housekeeping and direct network cleaners.
Provide information, advice, and coordination for Work Permits.
Assist with JSA development for NF functions.
Coordinate with other contractors (e.g., Building Maintenance, Roofing).
Organize and store hazardous waste.
Act as a Contractor Sponsor.
Support project groups as a lift truck or crane operator.
Remove obsolete or unnecessary equipment or test systems as identified.
Support Annual Inspections for cranes, fume hoods, lift trucks, fall arrest equipment, pallet trucks, and all below-the-hook lifting equipment.
