About The Position

As a Journeyperson Mechanic at Mondelēz International, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance on plant equipment to ensure it remains in good working order. You will troubleshoot problems, recommend and execute mechanical repairs to minimize downtime, and collaborate with the Operations Team to share knowledge and foster a Continuous Improvement environment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently while also functioning effectively within a team.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of manufacturing experience in similar positions.
  • Served and satisfactorily completed an approved Apprenticeship or Training.
  • Ability to work well in a team-based environment with limited supervision.
  • Able to learn and apply Continuous Improvement tools (IL6S).
  • Capable of working effectively as part of a High Performance Team.
  • Ability to work any shift, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to problem solve and help with practical solutions.
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Troubleshoot problems and perform mechanical repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Utilize mechanical ability and knowledge to repair or replace defective parts and equipment.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, or sketches.
  • Apply working knowledge of pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, machining of parts, some electrical knowledge, hand tool usage, and welding.
  • Operate forklifts, manlifts, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Work effectively with electrical, boiler room, and/or operations personnel.
  • Participate in groups or teams to enhance equipment and process reliability and productivity.
  • Report all work through a computerized maintenance system (SAP).
  • Assist with enhancements to the computerized maintenance system.
  • Work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Utilize LOTO, hot work permits, and confined space permits.
  • Protect company investments in machinery and equipment through proper care, skill, and knowledge.
  • Support and participate in business initiatives such as HACCP and QCMS.
