Journeyman Truck Technician / Mechanic - Swing Shift
About The Position
Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, is seeking a Journeyman Truck Technician / Mechanic to join their team. This role involves working on medium and heavy-duty class 7 & 8 trucks in the shop, ensuring repairs are done accurately and timely to maximize customer uptime. The technician will analyze and diagnose complex truck malfunctions or system failures, then determine the best course of action to return the truck to peak performance. This may include repairing or rebuilding cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, or air systems. The role also requires maintaining and servicing trucks to ensure reliability, minimize downtime, and extend the life of each vehicle. The technician will work alongside other trained technicians in a supportive shop environment.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Self-motivation and assertiveness.
- Ability to work under little or no supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
- Must provide own tools.
Nice To Haves
- Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred.
- Cummins and MX software experience preferred.
