Journeyman Truck Technician / Mechanic - Day Shift
About The Position
Pape’ Kenworth is seeking a Journeyman Truck Technician / Mechanic to work in its Klamath Falls, Oregon shop. The technician will work on medium- and heavy-duty Class 7 and 8 trucks, making accurate and timely repairs to support customers and maximize vehicle uptime. The role includes analyzing and diagnosing malfunctions and system failures, determining appropriate repairs, and returning trucks to peak performance. Work may involve repairing or rebuilding cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems. The technician will also maintain and service trucks to promote reliability, reduce downtime, and extend vehicle life, while meeting high standards for safety and quality. The position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience working on all makes and models of medium- and heavy-duty Class 7 and 8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Self-motivation and assertiveness.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
- Must provide own tools.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
Nice To Haves
- Kenworth Essentials certifications.
- Experience with Cummins and MX software.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose truck malfunctions and system failures and determine the appropriate repair approach.
- Repair or rebuild truck cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
- Maintain and service trucks to ensure reliability, minimize downtime, and extend vehicle life.
- Complete repairs accurately and promptly to return trucks to service and support customer uptime.
- Perform work to high standards of safety and quality.
