About The Position

Pape’ Kenworth is hiring a Journeyman Truck Technician / Mechanic to work in its Anderson, California shop. The technician will repair, maintain, and service medium- and heavy-duty Class 7 and 8 trucks, helping customers return sidelined vehicles to service quickly and correctly. The position involves diagnosing malfunctions and system failures and deciding on appropriate repairs to restore trucks to peak performance. Work may include repairing or rebuilding cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems. Technicians are expected to deliver safe, high-quality work while supporting truck reliability, minimizing downtime, and extending vehicle life. The role includes working alongside trained technicians in a well-supported shop.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience working on all makes and models of medium- and heavy-duty Class 7 and 8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
Basic computer knowledge.
Self-motivation and assertiveness.
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
Must provide own tools.

Nice To Haves

Kenworth Essentials certifications.
Cummins and MX software experience.

Responsibilities

Repair medium- and heavy-duty Class 7 and 8 trucks accurately and in a timely manner.
Analyze and diagnose truck malfunctions and system failures, and determine appropriate repairs.
Repair or rebuild truck cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
Maintain and service trucks to improve reliability, minimize downtime, and extend vehicle life.
Complete work to high standards of safety and quality and help return sidelined trucks to service quickly and correctly.
