About The Position

Pape’ Kenworth is seeking a Journeyman Truck Technician / Mechanic to work in its shop in Anderson, California. The technician will service medium- and heavy-duty Class 7 and 8 trucks, completing repairs accurately and promptly to support customers and maximize vehicle uptime. The work includes diagnosing truck malfunctions and system failures and choosing the appropriate repairs to restore performance. Repairs may involve cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems. The technician will also maintain and service trucks to improve reliability, minimize downtime, and extend vehicle life, while meeting safety and quality standards. The role includes working alongside other trained technicians and requires the ability to exercise sound judgment and attention to detail.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience working on all makes and models of medium- and heavy-duty Class 7 and 8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
Basic computer knowledge.
Self-motivation and assertiveness.
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
Must provide own tools.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.

Nice To Haves

Kenworth Essentials certifications.
Experience with Cummins and MX software.

Responsibilities

Diagnose truck malfunctions and system failures and determine the appropriate repairs.
Repair or rebuild truck components and systems, including cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
Maintain and service trucks to support reliability, minimize downtime, and extend vehicle life.
Complete repairs accurately and promptly to help return sidelined trucks to service.
Perform work that meets safety and quality standards.
