About The Position

We’re looking for a talented, reliable Journeyman Plumber to install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems while preventing minor drips from becoming major indoor waterfalls. You’ll need technical expertise, a strong work ethic, and the ability to crawl into spaces that were clearly designed by someone who hates plumbers. Plumbing isn’t just about leaks, pipes, and gaskets. It’s about people. Not just the people we help by providing quality plumbing services, but also the professionals doing those services themselves. Requirements

A valid journeyman plumber license or certification, as required in South Dakota
1-3 years of professional plumbing experience
Excellent knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, materials, and codes
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
The ability to lift equipment and work in crawl spaces, attics, basements, and other areas
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
A professional attitude and a sense of humor

Nice To Haves

Have residential plumbing experience
Know how to repair a problem without creating three exciting new ones
Have backflow, gas piping, medical gas, or hydronic heating certifications
Can use mobile work-order software without declaring war on the tablet
Have experience dealing with emergency calls, difficult access points, and toilets that have clearly seen things
Understand that “quick and easy” are words customers use, not job descriptions

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, and equipment
Diagnose leaks, clogs, low water pressure, mysterious noises, and other plumbing crimes
Perform rough-in, trim-out, service, and remodeling work
Install and service water heaters, pumps, valves, drains, and sewer systems
Follow plumbing codes and safety standards
Explain plumbing problems to customers without using enough technical jargon to make their eyes glaze over
Keep your work area clean
Guide apprentices toward becoming skilled plumbers
