About The Position

Archer Mechanical is seeking a full-time Journeyman to join our growing team. Archer Mechanical specializes in sustainable mechanical and plumbing systems, providing design-build, design-assist, new construction, additions, remodels, retrofits, service, and preventative maintenance. As a Journeyman, you will play a vital role in the successful execution of our plumbing and mechanical projects at Archer Mechanical. You will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise and contribute to the construction of exceptional structures such as stadiums, schools, high-end offices, housing complexes, and processing facilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of proven working experience in practical installations and construction management.
  • Possess a valid Journeyman license in plumbing.
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management, organization, and task management abilities.
  • Proficient in clear and effective communication with various stakeholders, including general contractors, vendors, sub-trades, and in-house management.
  • Sound understanding of the mechanical design and construction industry, including detailing, specification compliance, change management, and reporting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform practical installations and construction tasks in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Follow all quality control and quality assurance processes, methods, and requirements.
  • Collaborate with the superintendent and project manager in identifying project needs, such as RFI's, forecasting, and manpower allocation.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting project progress on a regular basis.
  • Procure, maintain, and manage all necessary tools and equipment for the projects.
  • Participate in reviews for BIM (Building Information Modeling) and construction drawings.
  • Identify and provide solutions to mitigate change orders and other project-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable specifications, job submittals, and governing codes.
  • Provide daily reports and coordinate subcontractors, materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Support the mentoring and training of apprentices and other team members.
  • Maintain project schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Recognize and address potential problems and conflicts, and propose resolutions.
  • Provide direction to the crew, including subcontractors, and oversee job site safety in accordance with OSHA and Archer standards.
