This role involves repairing machinery, mechanical, and electrical equipment. The Journeyman - Machinery Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing equipment issues, performing necessary repairs using hand tools, replacing parts, and ordering replacements when needed. The position requires the ability to reassemble machines, make adjustments, and communicate with operators to identify problems. A key aspect of the role includes testing faulty equipment, diagnosing malfunctions using knowledge of electronic units and systems, and replacing defective components. The mechanic will also be responsible for calibrating equipment and instruments, maintaining repair records, and entering information into computer systems. Reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation is essential. The role also includes assembling parts, routing cables, installing components, and testing units to ensure proper operation. Additionally, the position involves installing and testing electrical lines and circuits in military shelters and vans, disassembling, repairing, and replacing electrical components, and fabricating meter boxes. Participation in team repairs and installations, both in-house and on TDY assignments, is expected. All other position-related duties as assigned or requested are also part of the responsibilities.
