This position focuses on preventative maintenance, inspections, general repairs, CVIP inspections, and troubleshooting on heavy duty trucks and equipment while working as part of a collaborative Service team. The role involves performing preventative maintenance, inspections, and general repairs on heavy duty trucks and equipment, completing CVIP inspections and related repairs, and testing vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications. You will coordinate with Parts Technicians to ensure required components are available or ordered. Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems is a key part of the role, as is reviewing repair concerns provided by Service Advisors and diagnosing faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and OEM procedures. Communication of repair findings, recommended repairs, and estimated completion timelines with Service Advisors is essential. Accurate recording of labour time, diagnostics, repairs performed, and parts used, along with thorough and accurate completion of repair orders and inspection documentation, is required. You will also participate in ongoing OEM, manufacturer, and in-house technical training, continue developing diagnostic and repair skills on modern heavy truck systems, maintain certifications, and stay current with evolving technologies and industry best practices. Sharing knowledge and supporting apprentice development as opportunities arise is also part of the role.
