Requirements

  • Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or Commercial Transport Technician certification
  • Valid CVIP Licence or willingness to obtain shortly after hire
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Class 3 or Class 1 Driver's Licence
  • Detroit Diesel certifications
  • Cummins certifications
  • DTNA training and certifications
  • Previous Freightliner or Western Star dealership experience
  • Experience with electronic diagnostics and OEM software platforms

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, maintain, and inspect commercial vehicles while ensuring repairs meet OEM, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Review work orders and customer concerns.
  • Diagnose engine, transmission, electrical, HVAC, suspension, brake, and aftertreatment systems.
  • Utilize OEM diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting tools.
  • Develop repair plans and accurately document findings.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and component replacements.
  • Complete warranty, preventative maintenance, and customer-pay repairs.
  • Conduct inspections and testing to ensure repairs meet safety and performance standards.
  • Work closely with Parts and Service teams to maximize efficiency and uptime.
  • Complete repair orders and labour documentation accurately.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in technical training and certification programs.
