Advanced Electric Systems (AES) is looking for skilled Journeyman Fiber Technicians to join our team and contribute to critical communication and electrical infrastructure projects across North America. The majority of our fiber work involves OPGW (Optical Ground Wire) fiber splicing, testing, and installation on high-voltage transmission infrastructure. Candidates should have experience with OPGW fiber systems and be comfortable working in and around transmission-line environments. This is a hands-on field leadership role requiring strong technical skills, the ability to run and coordinate field crews, and the ability to communicate professionally with customers, project managers, engineers, and other contractors. The Journeyman Fiber Technician will be expected to lead by example, maintain high-quality workmanship, and ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently. This is a traveling position, and regular travel is an essential requirement of the job. Technicians must be willing and able to travel to various project locations, often outside of their home area, for extended periods of time. The position may require overnight stays, extended project assignments, and travel based on current project needs. Applicants must be willing to travel regularly as a condition of employment. We are actively hiring in Heber City, Utah and Austin, Texas , while continuing to expand our team to support growing regional demand. As part of the Quanta Services family, you’ll gain the stability, resources, training, and long-term career opportunities that come with being connected to the largest utility contractor in North America.
