This role involves connecting, rearranging, repairing, and maintaining outside cable to ensure good service. The Journeyman Lineman will place aerial/buried telephone cable (copper and fiber), work efficiently from a bucket truck, and connect wires and cables to terminals. They will also perform aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, and lashing. Construction work, including digging holes and placing cable in various conduit systems and excavations, is also a key responsibility. The position requires climbing utility poles and/or using an aerial lift truck to place cables according to system design. Adherence to quality and safety standards, including OSHA procedures, is mandatory. The role also includes restoring areas to project requirements, understanding field prints, reporting project progress, and maintaining professionalism while working on customer property. The individual will be directly responsible for all vehicles and equipment under their control.
