About The Position

JRT Mechanical is hiring a Journeyman Plumber to primarily repair and troubleshoot a wide variety of commercial and industrial plumbing systems. Work is performed for private, public, and federal-sector customers at facilities including schools, multifamily properties, hotels, police and fire stations, and warehouses. The role involves working with owners and contractors to assess needs, plan plumbing layouts, complete installations and repairs, diagnose problems, and document work. The position is safety sensitive. Requirements

Commercial journeyman plumbing license.
Stable job history.
Experience in the plumbing industry.

Responsibilities

Read blueprints and other technical documents to assess repair needs.
Work with owners and contractors to assess client needs and plan plumbing layouts.
Install, assemble, maintain, and repair pipes and plumbing fixtures.
Fasten pipes and tubes using clamps, screws, brazing, soldering, welding, and other methods.
Measure and modify pipes by cutting, threading, or bending them with specialized tools.
Install appliances and fixtures such as dishwashers, water heaters, toilets, and sinks.
Diagnose plumbing problems and resolve issues.
Repair or replace damaged parts.
Locate and repair water-line leaks.
Train new apprentices in proper plumbing techniques and practices.
Perform pressure tests to confirm pipe systems are airtight and watertight.
Keep detailed notes and create work reports documenting projects.
Test plumbing and other installed fixtures to ensure proper functioning.
Follow state laws and regulations and adhere to local building codes.
