Journey Electrician I - Maintenance West

About The Position

Performs routine inspections and maintenance on all electrical systems, including normal power and emergency distribution, transformers, TVSS, VFDs, starters, lighting, receptacles, and PA systems. The role is largely responsible for maintaining electrical-system components through preventive testing, inspection, and repair. Supports the department in resolving after-hours emergencies and may be required to work flexible hours or shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Three years of electrical experience.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and product or operational manuals.
Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly.
Meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool.
Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.
Valid State of Colorado Journeyman Electrician license.
Valid Colorado driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Three years as a commercial journey electrician.
Previous service or maintenance experience.
Vocational or technical schooling.

Responsibilities

Work independently performing preventive and routine maintenance on District electrical systems.
Complete departmental reports, documentation, and work orders.
Troubleshoot, install, and repair intercom systems.
Perform code-required maintenance, testing, and inspections of facility electrical systems; assist and direct contractors with inspections and correction of resulting deficiencies.
Support development of parts inventory and coordinate with the parts manager.
Collaborate with electricians working on electrical construction of circuits and equipment for large projects.
Share the department's on-call rotation.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
