About The Position

The Job Coach is assigned to a specific non-patient unit area at Central State Hospital, a mental health hospital. The position facilitates psychoeducational and therapeutic groups, including Work Therapy groups and sessions in the Wellness Center; documents individuals’ progress in the DBHDD Scheduling system; and provides therapeutic interventions when requested by the Recovery Planning Team (RPT), along with other active treatment programming.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and more than 36 months of experience in a related role; or an associate degree and more than 24 months of experience in a related role; or more than 12 months of experience at the lower-level Health Aide 2 or an equivalent role.
• Certain positions may require evaluations, vaccinations, professional licensure, and certifications. Any required licenses must be current and allow the provider to practice in Georgia.
• A national and state background check is required as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience providing psychoeducational group counseling to individuals with mental health issues.
• Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups, including Work Therapy groups and sessions in the Wellness Center.
• Document the progress of all individuals in the DBHDD Scheduling system.
• Provide therapeutic interventions when requested by the Recovery Planning Team (RPT).
• Provide other forms of active treatment programming.
