About The Position

To be fully engaged in demonstrating I-Care Values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) by providing training and support for students with disabilities, business co-workers, families, and school district personnel to insure success during the work site rotations and/or a competitive job.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or other combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Pass Vocational Rehabilitation best practices supported employment part one and introduction social security work incentive's part 2 within two months from the start date.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours and schedule based on the student’s needs.
  • Able to drive throughout Brevard County.
  • Pass appropriate school board requirements and screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year successful work with students.
  • Florida Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Performs job coaching and job development at any Health First facility or local employer within the Brevard County community throughout the year.
  • Identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions as related to a student intern’s specific job rotation or offsite/outside employment and training.
  • Perform specific job analysis, task analysis, and job matching activities.
  • Coach students in the areas of grooming, hygiene, communication, interviewing, and appropriate behaviors as they relate to successful employment.
  • Communicate with Project Search Team to make final decisions regarding any issues that may affect student success at a worksite rotation and at offsite employer.
  • Provide professional, courteous communication and information to customers.
  • Ability to be flexible with work shifts as needed, including hours and days, to meet the employment needs of student interns.
  • Ensure the safety of the students in the various work site rotations or environments within Health First, Inc. and offsite at employers. This may include a wide variety of departments, offices, and classroom community environments
  • Adhere to all legal requirements concerning the safety and welfare of the interns.
  • Protect the confidentiality of business information unless disclosure serves a professional purpose within the scope of the program or is required by law.
