About The Position

Ariel Partners is seeking a Jira Solutions Architect to join its client implementation team. The role provides expert solutions and architectural guidance for migrations from ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management to Jira Software Cloud and Confluence Cloud, and for integrating ServiceNow ITSM with Jira Software. The architect designs and optimizes Jira solutions to meet complex business requirements, while advising clients and teams on configuration and customization best practices.

The position supports workflows, visualizations, and metrics at team, value stream, and portfolio levels, and establishes forecasting and planning capabilities using Monte Carlo simulations. It also involves building Kanban boards with sophisticated workflows and defined closing conditions, such as “closed normally” and “discarded.” The architect conducts client and internal training, troubleshoots complex implementation issues, and stays current with Jira technology developments.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Jira Solutions Architect or in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of Jira Software Cloud and Confluence Cloud.
• Strong understanding of IT service management and the software development life cycle.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in dynamic environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant Jira certifications are highly desirable.
• Proficiency with plugins such as ScriptRunner for Jira, Zephyr, Timesheets, Structure, and/or Timeline.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement solutions using Jira Software Cloud and Confluence Cloud.
• Work with clients to understand business needs and tailor Jira architectures accordingly.
• Lead integrations between Jira and other tools and systems to create cohesive workflows.
• Ensure Jira solutions have optimal performance, scalability, and security.
• Support workflows, visualizations, and metrics at team, value stream, and portfolio levels.
• Establish forecasting and planning capabilities using Monte Carlo simulations.
• Create Kanban boards with sophisticated workflows and specified closure conditions, including “closed normally” and “discarded” statuses.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on Jira configuration and customization best practices.
• Keep up with Jira technology developments and incorporate relevant advancements into solutions.
• Conduct training and workshops for clients and internal teams on Jira functionality and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Jira implementations.
