About The Position

The Janitorial role, also described as store porter, performs cleaning and facility-maintenance duties at the store. Candidates must be available between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. and on weekends. The position offers 20–24 hours per week. Training is provided at the store level. For internal candidates, store or facility teammates are preferred to have at least six months of employment with Schnucks, and Store Support Center teammates are preferred to have at least one year. Internal candidates must be in good standing and, if invited to interview, have manager approval based on performance.

Requirements

Be available to work between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. and on weekends.
Be able to handle cleaning chemicals.
Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Be able to work on their feet for the entire shift, which may be 4–8 hours.

Nice To Haves

For store or facility teammates applying internally, at least six months of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
For Store Support Center teammates applying internally, at least one year of employment with Schnucks is preferred.
Internal candidates must be in good standing, not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline, and must have manager approval based on performance if invited to interview.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
Maintain floors by scrubbing with appropriate pads and chemicals, stripping, polishing, and re-glossing.
Operate scrub and buffing machines.
Empty trash inside and outside the store.
Clean windows, break rooms, restrooms, and the manager’s office.
Follow safety and sanitation procedures.
Prepare linens for laundry pickup.
Change light bulbs.
Perform other duties assigned at the discretion of store management.
