About The Position

Bobby Dodd Institute is seeking a janitorial team member to perform cleaning tasks that meet custodial contract specifications. The position is supervised by the Custodial Supervisor and is part of a contract requiring most work hours to be performed by individuals with disabilities. Due to program requirements, this position must be filled by a person with a disability.

The schedule is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Applicants should have three to six months of janitorial training or experience, preferably, or be capable of learning the essential functions. Candidates must be able to pass security clearance for designated contracts. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED equivalent and a strong sense of integrity.

Requirements

• This position must be filled by a person with a disability due to program requirements.
• Must be able to pass security clearance for designated contracts.
• Must be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
• Must be able to stand for a majority of work time, walk for a significant portion, and sit.
• Must be able to lift and carry 35 pounds and push and pull 35 pounds.
• Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle.
• Three to six months of janitorial training or experience is preferred, or the ability to learn the essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop hallways, stairs, and offices.
• Empty wastebaskets and dispose of trash in the prescribed manner.
• Dust horizontal surfaces.
• Clean bathrooms.
• Clean glass and windows.
• Wash walls and other vertical surfaces.
• Vacuum rugs.
• Mix cleaning solutions.
• Maintain issued equipment.
• Notify the supervisor when supplies or equipment are needed.
• Cooperate with team members.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Custodial Supervisor.
