About The Position

Harvard Maintenance is hiring a Cleaner to perform basic janitorial work in common areas, restrooms, entrances, elevators, walkways, and other assigned areas. Duties include cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, restocking supplies, handling waste, and maintaining floors and furnishings. The role also includes responding to incidental spills, flooded areas, and trash or restroom concerns. Multiple shifts and full-time, part-time, and seasonal opportunities are available. The listed schedule is Monday–Wednesday and Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; Sunday, 10:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m.; Thursday and Saturday off. The listed pay is $16.50 per hour.

Requirements

Strong communication skills.
Reliable transportation to and from work sites.
Willingness to work assigned hours.
Ability to perform physical demands including bending, kneeling, carrying, lifting, reaching, and standing for extended periods.

At least 1 year of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform basic cleaning of assigned areas and items, including common areas, restrooms, entrances, elevators, walkways, windows, furniture, fixtures, stairs, chairs, tables, telephones, and drinking fountains.
Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums.
Follow health and safety regulations and company policies.
Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to management.
Attend to flooded areas, incidental spills, and related cleanup involving trash and restroom concerns.
Perform additional duties as required.
