About The Position

This part-time position is responsible for routine cleaning and janitorial duties at a mall during evening and weekend work. The role helps ensure the mall is ready for opening and is cleaned at closing time. Duties include cleaning floors, walls, windows, washrooms, walkways, sidewalks, and waste areas; restocking washroom supplies; and safely handling and disposing of hazardous materials and blood-borne pathogens in accordance with applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of building-cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment.
• Familiarity with the proper use of cleaning chemicals in compliance with regulations.
• Understanding of hazardous-material and blood-borne-pathogen disposal procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors and cleaning walls and windows.
• Maintain washroom cleanliness, conduct hourly checks, and restock supplies.
• Remove garbage from waste containers throughout the mall and clean litter from walkways.
• Use appropriate cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous materials and blood-borne pathogens according to state and federal regulations.
• Perform other janitorial duties as required.
• Ensure the mall is ready for opening and cleaned at closing time.
• Keep sidewalks clear of garbage.
