About The Position
This position involves performing daily cleaning duties at the Grand Prairie Armed Force Base. The Janitor will follow established cleaning methods, including dusting, cleaning glass and metal surfaces, cleaning restrooms, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and buffing floors. Responsibilities also include trash and litter disposal, collecting and transporting supplies and equipment, cleaning equipment after use, and reporting any issues to a supervisor. The role requires adherence to Goodwill and departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate well, read, write and follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Have an eye for detail cleaning.
- Neat appearance.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must meet disability qualifications set by Ability One/Source America.
- Documentation to satisfy I-9 requirements.
- Ability to pass a physical, drug screen, and federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Preference for performing routine and repetitive duties.
- Previous experience in Janitorial services or related work is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Follows established cleaning methods in performing daily duties such as dusting (including ceiling fans and air conditioning vents), cleaning/polishing glass and metal surfaces, cleaning restrooms and sweeping, and mopping and vacuuming floors.
- Uses buffing machine to buff floors.
- Picks up and disposes of trash and litter on the grounds, including removal and disposal of various types of recyclable materials.
- Requests and collects necessary supplies and equipment and transports them to work areas.
- Cleans equipment and returns to designated area after use.
- Adheres to Goodwill and departmental policies and procedures.
- Reports any work or area not cleaned by shift's end to immediate supervisor.
- Performs periodic or situational duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Reports broken, damaged, and inoperative equipment, lights, and/or furnishings to immediate supervisor.
