Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
  • This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete the Unit Administrator Basic Course within 18 months of appointment.
  • This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete the Unit Pay Administrator Course within 18 months of appointment.

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • One year of specialized experience which includes: providing administrative assistance in support of a military unit or military activity in one or more of the following areas: unit or individual training, medical readiness, personnel actions, financial actions, supply, or logistics; performing day-to-day administrative functions; and preparing or reviewing written products.
  • Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Organizational Management and Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, and Management.
  • A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
  • Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and process Request for Orders (RFOS)/Orders within applicable Army personnel systems.
  • Coordinate training programs for personnel and review duty participation.
  • Review documentation, identify discrepancies, initiate applicable pay actions, and coordinate resolution of rejected, incorrect or delayed pay.
  • Research and resolve complex military pay and personnel discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with soldiers, Commanders, servicing HR organizations, finance/pay offices, USARC and other supporting agencies.
  • Review supporting documentation and personnel/pay data for accuracy before initiating or processing transactions.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to Commanders, soldiers and unit personnel regarding IPPS-A transactions, orders, participation, and associated pay processes.
  • Maintain required systems access for all systems necessary to perform assigned HP/Personnel and pay support functions.
  • Initiate, review, process, track and monitor military personnel actions and transactions in IPPS-A, performing corrective actions with authorize permissions as needed.
