About The Position

This is a military technician position with the 79th Sustainment Support Command, 653 Transportation Detachment, 385 Transportation Battalion, 319Transportation Brigade Expeditionary, 364 Expeditionary Sustainment Command located at Tacoma, Washington. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
  • This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete the Unit Administrator Basic Course within 18 months of appointment.
  • This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete the Unit Pay Administrator Course within 18 months of appointment.
  • The duties of this position may require the incumbent to work weekends.
  • This position is obligated.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Providing administrative support in one or more of the following areas: training, medical readiness, personnel actions, financial actions, supply, or logistics; 2.) Coordinating logistical and training support with internal personnel and/or organizations; and 3.) Preparing various written correspondence to the briefed to organizational personnel.
  • Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Strategic Management and Organizational Design and Development.
  • A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
  • Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily administrative functions in support of the organization’s readiness program.
  • Provide guidance to personnel on changes to organizational regulations and directives.
  • Utilize various automation systems to identify financial management program deficiencies.
  • Analyze account report system to maintain inventory.
  • Coordinate training programs for personnel in accordance with organizational directives and guidance.
  • Manage the travel program for the organization.
  • Provide pay guidance to organizational personnel.
