About The Position

This position is responsible for making available a quantity of clean linen for the proper care and comfort of all residents. The Janitor will maintain all linen in good repair and remove from service any linen with holes and/or stains. This role involves collecting laundry from residents daily or as needed, labeling new resident’s clothing items, sorting, treating, washing, drying, and folding clothing and linens. The Janitor will deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms, follow all sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties, and maintain an inventory of laundry supplies. Additionally, the Janitor must use all laundry equipment and supplies in a safe manner and report any laundry equipment issues to the Administrator. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

GED or High School Diploma
1 year of experience preferred
Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry/housekeeping procedures
Basic math skills
Ability to problem solve and seek assistance when needed.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand; walk and talk, read or hear.
Frequent use of industrial washers and dryers and related laundry/housekeeping equipment.

Responsibilities
