About The Position

Dart Container is hiring a Janitor for its new Paper Center of Excellence. This role helps keep a busy manufacturing facility safe, clean, and operating smoothly by maintaining a clean environment that supports production and employee well-being. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

The role includes routine cleaning of floors, shared spaces, bathrooms, and other surfaces, as well as replenishing supplies and removing trash. Depending on assignment, duties may also include cleaning production equipment and areas, removing production debris, and assisting facilities maintenance with simple tasks. The position requires attention to safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), the ability to work independently, and minimum English-language proficiency for training and safety and quality communications.

• Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate demonstrated processes and other workplace procedures.
• Ability to meet safety and quality standards.
• Ability to work independently.
• Minimum proficiency in English to support effective new-hire training and ongoing communication about safety and quality issues.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using cleaning equipment and tools.
• Experience using cleaning chemicals and solvents.
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets.

Responsibilities

• Follow and commit to safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
• Clean and sanitize common spaces and touch points in lunchrooms, break rooms, bathrooms, and conference rooms.
• Replenish supplies and inform the supervisor when supply inventory is low.
• Empty trash.
• Dust and clean glass surfaces as needed.
• Depending on assignment, clean and sanitize production equipment and areas.
• Depending on assignment, clean trenches.
• Depending on assignment, collect and remove scrap, dust, and other debris from production areas.
• Depending on assignment, collect trash from production areas and empty containers at the end of the shift.
• Depending on assignment, assist facilities maintenance with simple tasks, such as changing light bulbs, hanging items, removing internal or external debris, removing snow or ice, and salting common walk areas.
