About The Position

Diversified Maintenance is hiring a Janitor to perform general cleaning and preservation of assigned areas within one building or multiple client sites. Specific tasks vary, so the Janitor must be flexible and perform assigned duties according to client specifications. On-the-job training is provided. The position is listed at $13 per hour, with weekly pay, and a schedule of 35 hours: Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., and Sunday, 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, or at least six months of experience in a janitorial position.
Attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions effectively.

Nice To Haves

Prior cleaning or janitorial experience.
Familiarity with custodial practices and commercial cleaning standards.
Knowledge of floor-care techniques, including buffing and waxing.
Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance.

Responsibilities

Maintain and clean floor surfaces by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and other objects.
Clean, monitor, and maintain restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entrance areas.
Empty trash cans for proper disposal and use a compactor for certain materials.
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners and equipment.
Spot-clean carpets and assist with carpet extraction and shampooing.
Replenish paper products and sanitary supplies.
Follow the housekeeping schedule.
Occasionally use heavy cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers.
Perform other duties as assigned based on the scope of work or customer needs.
