About The Position

The Janitor keeps buildings clean and orderly and performs heavy cleaning duties. Work includes cleaning floors, shampooing rugs and carpets, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. The position is seasonal at 4700 Carpenter Road, Ypsilanti, Michigan. The schedule varies by day and may be 12:30 p.m.–9:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m.–5:30 a.m.; further details are provided during the interview. No experience is necessary, and training is provided. The fixed pay rate is $17.00 per hour. ESFM, the corporate Integrated Facilities Management division of Compass Group USA, provides workplace and facilities services with a focus on safe, healthy, and sustainable environments. The role supports a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff and includes other duties as assigned.

No experience is necessary; willing to train.

Responsibilities

Collect and dispose of trash according to approved procedures and infection control plans.
Dust and damp-mop floors following approved procedures.
Move equipment and furniture to clean properly and return furniture to its correct placement.
Clean assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment.
Sanitize all surfaces and follow the eight-step cleaning procedure.
Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment.
Identify areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete the task.
Complete all tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Perform tasks in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines.
Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpet.
Contribute to the team and exhibit professionalism with customers, fellow employees, and others.
Perform other duties as assigned.
