About The Position
A janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational condition of a building. Their core duties include sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning and stocking restrooms, emptying trash, and performing light building maintenance. They ensure a hygienic environment for occupants and visitors.
Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend, kneel, and lift heavy objects or equipment.
- Keen understanding of handling cleaning solutions, EPA-registered disinfectants, and biohazards.
- Capable of working autonomously while following strict cleaning schedules and checklists.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking restrooms.
- Safely handling and applying cleaning chemicals.
- Collecting, separating (recycling), and disposing of trash and hazardous waste.
- Monitoring and tracking cleaning supply inventory, placing orders when necessary.
- Sweeping and mopping floors.
- Emptying trash.
- Performing light building maintenance.
