About The Position

A Janitor is responsible for keeping the workplace clean, organized, and disinfected. The role includes cleaning building interiors and common areas, maintaining restrooms, replenishing supplies, handling waste and recycling, and following safety procedures. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6 pm to 10 pm.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Follow instructions and management direction, take responsibility for actions, keep commitments, and complete tasks on time or notify the appropriate person with an alternate plan.
• Observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.

Responsibilities

• Clean building interiors, including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls, and general areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop offices, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, stairs, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Remove stains from chairs and upholstered furniture.
• Dust furniture, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and moldings.
• Empty and clean trash cans and ashtrays.
• Disinfect commonly used items, such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
• Clean and maintain restrooms and replenish supplies there and in other required areas.
• Wash and clean windows and mirrors.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and take them to the disposal area.
• Remove trash and snow from sidewalks when necessary.
• Maintain cleaning-supply inventory and request missing materials from supervisors when applicable.
• Notify supervisors about unsafe conditions or conditions requiring maintenance.
• Maintain a cleaning chart indicating areas cleaned and inspected.
• Follow safety and precautionary rules.
• Close doors at the end of the night shift.
