About The Position

This position is responsible for general cleaning and upkeep of the manufacturing plant. The Janitor cleans common areas such as breakrooms, restrooms, and conference rooms; keeps cleaning and maintenance supplies neatly stored according to safety practices; and notifies Maintenance Technicians and/or the Facility Manager when supplies need to be replenished. The role may also assist Maintenance with general facility upkeep and perform other tasks as assigned by the Facility Manager.

The position is based in a manufacturing environment that may involve exposure to heat, noise, vibration, odors, dust, or moving mechanical parts. It requires medium to heavy physical work, including lifting, moving, pushing, or pulling materials, as well as regularly handling materials and equipment and frequently standing and reaching.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 months of related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of safety practices for storing cleaning and maintenance supplies.
• Mechanically inclined, with the ability to work with basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch.
• Ability to add and subtract fractions.
• Communicates well with others and asks for and offers help when needed.
• Organized; completes work in a timely manner and can prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Problem-solver who gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team and contribute to a positive team spirit.
• Observes and follows safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean common areas of the manufacturing plant.
• Ensure supplies are stored neatly and according to safety rules.
• Notify maintenance of resupply orders as needed.
• Assist maintenance with general upkeep of the facility.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Facility Manager.
