About The Position

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the cafeteria, restrooms, and outside grounds at Data-Mail’s Windsor, Connecticut location. The role works a 12-hour rotating night shift, three to four days per week, and includes routine cleaning, periodic upkeep, special cleaning projects, and light snow removal. The Janitor must follow company rules, maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data, support quality and efficiency goals, and keep a manager or supervisor informed of matters that may affect department or company objectives.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to maintain inventory and reports.

Responsibilities

Clean cafeteria tables and counters, mop floors, empty trash, and refresh the cafeteria periodically throughout the day.
Clean restrooms, including mopping floors; cleaning sinks, toilet bowls, chrome, countertops, dispensers, and mirrors; replenishing supplies; and emptying trash.
Pick up trash around entrances, parking areas, picnic tables, and front and side doors; empty sidewalk ashtrays and trash barrels.
Vacuum mats and clean glass on the main lobby entrance doors.
Empty trash in the maintenance, parts department, and glue room areas, upstairs and downstairs.
Complete weekly and monthly special cleaning projects.
Assist with light snow removal and sanding and salting sidewalks.
Comply with company rules and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
Support the company’s quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce costs or improve departmental operating efficiency.
Keep the manager or supervisor informed of activities and situations that could affect company or department goals and objectives.
Perform other related duties as required to achieve department and company goals and objectives.
