About The Position

The Forklift Operator is responsible for loading and unloading trailers and moving materials to and from various areas as required. The role works a 12-hour rotating shift, with day shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and night shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., in Windsor, Connecticut.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, plus 1–2 years of forklift operating experience, or equivalent.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to operate a forklift.
Ability to operate a Raymond reach truck.
Ability to follow procedures and documents.

Responsibilities

Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials from trailers using a forklift.
Load skids into racks using reach trucks.
Provide materials to the staging area, shipping department, sample requests, and recycling trailers.
Perform physical inventories and quality checks of materials.
Repack materials and use a floor scale to verify counts.
Keep the work area and warehouse clean and organized to maintain a safe work environment.
Comply with company rules and regulations.
Maintain the confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
Support the company’s quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce costs or improve departmental operating efficiency.
Keep the manager or supervisor informed about activities and situations that could affect corporate or departmental goals and objectives.
Perform other related duties as required to achieve departmental and company goals and objectives.
