About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Janitor/Painter for a job site near Ville Platte, LA. This role involves maintaining the premises and assisting skilled workers, as well as performing surface preparation and applying protective coatings to assets for corrosion prevention and other purposes. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Foreman, with duties checked frequently.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
General knowledge of cleaning
Must be able to successfully pass site course / exam
Must pass post-offer drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and sign acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

Maintain the premises, ensuring rest and working areas of offices, industrial buildings, and outer grounds are clean and orderly.
Perform dusting of furniture, walls, fixtures, and equipment.
Sweep, scrub, mop, wax, and buff floors.
Polish furniture, fixtures, and trimmings.
Use janitorial supplies.
Clean lavatories, showers, and restrooms.
Perform a variety of non-mechanical tasks and additional assignments as directed by a supervisor.
Perform surface preparation per specification to ensure proper adhesion of material using various methods (solvent, hand tools, power tools, pressurized water jet, abrasive blast cleaning, etc.).
Apply protective coatings to customer assets for corrosion prevention, identification, hazard recognition, product purity, etc., using various methods (brush/roll, conventional spray, single/plural component airless spray, hand trowel, thermal spray aluminum, etc.).
