About The Position
This role involves preparing wood and metal surfaces for painting and applying paint to various items such as equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using spray guns, brushes, and rollers. The job requires the ability to work at heights without fear and may involve tasks like filling cavities and selecting and mixing coating liquids to achieve the desired color. Requirements
- 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
- Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting.
- Must be able to paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush and rollers.
- Must be able to work at heights with no fear.
- Legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting.
- Paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush, and rollers.
- Read work orders and receive instructions verbally.
- Prepare surfaces using appropriate methods to remove dirt, oil, grease, old paint, smooth cracks, and fill holes.
- Work at heights with no fear.
- Fill cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.
- Select and mix coating liquid to produce desired color, according to specifications using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
- Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
- Apply paint to surfaces using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
