About The Position

Amentum is hiring an IVA Spacesuit Systems Engineer to support NASA exploration projects as part of the Nexus teammate company. The engineer will apply systems engineering principles across spaceflight systems, create and guide the development of systems engineering life-cycle artifacts, and collaborate with customers, team leads, and team members. Work spans the full system life cycle, from early concepts and trade studies through design, integration, testing, verification and validation, operations, and sustainment. The role also includes supporting or leading project activities involving stakeholder needs, system functions, technical requirements, interfaces, design analyses, verification and validation planning, testing, and operations. The position reports progress, issues, and support requests to a team lead and maintains professional relationships with NASA customers, other NASA contractors, and HLS commercial partners. The role is generally performed in an office environment, though tasks may involve indoor or outdoor work. Regular attendance is critical, and the employee may need to work outside the normal schedule or adjust hours to meet peak periods and surge requirements. Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency may be required, and the employee must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
