IVA Spacesuit Systems Engineer

MbSolutions•Houston, TX

About The Position

The IVA Spacesuit Systems Engineer supports exploration projects by applying systems engineering practices and creating development life-cycle artifacts. The role works closely with customers, team leads, and team members and supports activities across system life-cycle phases, including concept development, trade studies, design, integration, testing, verification and validation, operations, and sustainment. The engineer may guide other team members and lead aspects of project activities, including defining stakeholder needs, decomposing system functions, developing technical requirements, negotiating and documenting interfaces, performing design analyses, and supporting verification, validation, testing, and operations. The position also involves developing and modeling concepts; defining, flowing down, assessing, and verifying requirements; developing concepts of operations and software V&V plans; identifying risks and developing risk statements and responses; reviewing milestone-review documentation and hazard analyses; participating in trade studies and stakeholder reviews; and attending project meetings and providing summaries to technical leads. The engineer reports progress, issues, and support requests to the team lead and maintains professional relationships with the NASA customer, other NASA support contractors, and HLS commercial partners. Other duties may be required.
