About The Position

First Security Bank is seeking a professional, energetic, and team-oriented individual to join our team as an Item Processing Operator 1! In this role, under the direct supervision of the department manager, you will provide frontline support for balancing and reconciliation activities while ensuring strict adherence to established operational procedures, processing requirements and departmental schedules. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of all work performed and promptly reporting any known violations of compliance policies, applicable laws, or regulatory requirements. This position requires on-site work.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED completion by the end of your graduating year is required.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, typing, 10-key, and utilization of the internet is required.
  • Commitment to demonstrating First Security's Core 5 values with customers and coworkers.
  • Maintain reliable transportation, punctual attendance, and the ability to work on-site with extended hours when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years post-secondary education and/or customer service, relevant banking, or professional experience is preferred.
  • Item Processing, retail banking, and/or Bankway experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and state/federal laws while utilizing best practices and problem-solving techniques.
  • Perform quality control on transactions to resolve balancing issues, handle branch bundles, identify transactional concerns, and process remittance payments accurately.
  • Review, verify, and process Mobile Deposit Capture and ATM deposit.
  • Identify and resolve deposit exceptions to ensure accurate posting.
  • Manually enter data from unreadable or poor-quality check images.
  • Monitor reports, manage mail and courier deliveries, and ensure timely USPS dispatch.
  • Assess risk ratings, report findings, and communicate concerns to management.
  • Protect all customer information and bank operations through strict confidentiality.
  • Operate computer software and equipment, telephone, scanner, and copier, and develop proficiency with internal banking systems.
  • Maintain reliable transportation, punctual attendance, and the ability to work on-site with extended hours when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
