IT Technician - 1st shift
About The Position
We are looking for a qualified IT Technician that will install and maintain desktop computer systems. You will also support users in configuring desktops to their requirements for email, MS Office, and network access. A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of desktop computer and the ability to configure standard office applications, the company ERP system, and custom applications for users. The ideal candidate will also have troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skill in working with network engineers and system operations members of the IT.
Requirements
- Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position.
- Associates degree in technology related field OR equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Diagnostic and problem-solving skills at the desktop level.
- Ability to learn the company’s diverse computer systems to support desktop users.
- Knowledge of basic internet security and data privacy principles.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to learn and make independent decisions.
- Exceptional communication abilities (verbal, listening, and written).
- Aptitude for handling high-stress situations and fostering creative solutions.
- Skilled communicator; written, verbal and presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Position requires strong organizational and time management skills.
- Applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Nice To Haves
- 1-2 years of experience with technical support to internal users with hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Environments in a business setting
- Certification as IT Technician will be a plus (e.g., CompTIA A).
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and DNS/DHCP would be a plus.
- Experience with Dell workstations, iPhone, Windows 10, Office 365.
Responsibilities
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.).
- Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality.
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
- Basic troubleshooting skills in establishing connectivity at the desktops to the network and shared resources.
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
- Provide basic orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.).
- Tracks incidents in IT ticketing System when troubleshooting technical issues.
- Maintain records/logs of work performed.
- Provides support via phone, email, and face to face during standard business hours. Occasional after-hours work will be required as approved by your supervisor.
