Provides direct support to the property’s end user community including desktop support, end user application support, network and security resolution, phone support and IT Operations projects. Works directly with the Regional Director of IT and/or IT Manager on more sophisticated issues/projects and assists IT Technician I employees with areas that are more complex. This position is also responsible for computer operations tasks that need to be completed in the data center when assigned these responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in information technology or business administration with a concentration in Information Technology, or an equivalent to two years of previous experience in the IT field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A valid Arizona Driver License is required to comply with Xanterra/ Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel Company Vehicle Policy
  • Must be at least 19 years of age to comply with GCR Vehicle policy.
  • Constantly sitting, handling, reach outward, listening, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, using eye/hand coordination, handling, wrist motion.
  • Frequently walk and lift or carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasionally, reach above shoulder, squat or kneel, lift/carry and push or pull up to 100lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Fully understand and support Xanterra’s Mission Statement, Cultural Pillars, Community Commitment and Core Values.
  • Responsible for oversight of computers and related peripheral equipment in the computer room and throughout the entire property including POS Hardware.
  • Oversees maintenance of records and logs associated with computer processes.
  • Coordinates training of new IT technicians where required.
  • Helps to ensure integrity of programs, files and databases by overseeing other IT technicians in the use of utility programs, comprehensive backup procedures, documentation and logging maintenance.
  • Can be assigned to act as the Technical Advisor on Duty in the absence of the Regional Director of IT and the IT Manager II.
  • Participates in the on-call duty rotation for after-hours support.
  • Assists other IT technicians with decisions on proper “corrective-action” procedures during problem situations.
  • Works with software and hardware support personnel towards the resolution of problems.
  • Install and maintain personal computers and software as requested.
  • Works in conjunction with the Regional Director of IT and the IT Manager II to maintain and troubleshoot network systems.
  • Assists the Regional Director of IT and IT Manager II in the day-to-day operation of the computer facility.
  • Develop and modify reports using a variety of report writer programs used throughout the property if deemed necessary by senior management.
  • Assists with coverage of the helpdesk (if one exists at their property) when needed by the department.
  • Position may be required to serve in an on-call capacity for after-hours/non-business hours support if it is determined this is needed by the Chief Information Officer or Regional/Property Controller or Regional Director of IT.
  • Other duties as assigned.
